Filming the music video - initial stages
My first rush - https://youtu.be/Q6EfhKZQKs0
These shots were dedicated for the choruses where she Is extremely angry, so these shots are her acting explosive and upset over her break - up. I have included lots of different camera angles, such as low angles to put Scarla in a position of power. I also experimented with shots such as Scarla grabbing the camera and shaking, as it really involves the audience and allows them to really see the raw emotion in her face.

These shots were dedicated to sign posting where the flower/plates were shown in a positive way, but now are being destroyed, adding to the narrative. Additionally, theses shots include my intertextuality such as her looking at a Jeff Buckley album, a titanic reference, Fleetwood Mac album cover and her walking across a wall of intertextuality in HMV. In these shots also, her vulnerability is expressed with high angle shots while she is laying on the floor.
Footage for the introduction of the music video, which is a flash back of when the couple were happy together, giving us an insight into their relationship. This gives the audience context to care about the character and watch till the end.
These clips also set up a narrative for the music video; for example, they are laughing at a plate, which is then smashed by Scarla, as well as him passing her a flower which she then takes apart and destroys.
Finally, the colour grading is warm and yellow, which will the contrast with the blue, cold filter when they have broken up.
Some of my favourite shots so far:
Starting to edit:
This shot is at the beginning of the song, the low angle demonstrates that she is in a position of power, and the use of pathetic fallacy, with the weather being gloomy reflects her mood and sets up the tone for the rest of the song.
In the choruses, it becomes very intense, fast paced and emotive, so I edited in the clips where Scarla was the most upset and angry in order to fit the ups and downs of the song.
