Dixon - Gauntlett identity theory

After Reading this chapter, I have gained a wider understanding of Gauntlett’ Identity theory, now knowing that he was crucially inspired by Anthony Gidden and his theory of late modernity. Gauntlett argues that contemporary media has brought audiences into contact with a wider range of representations, and that audiences can consciously shape their own sense of self.
