I chose this video as it highlights the main misconception of homelessness in the UK, being that all homeless people are single, older men who lay on the street. This Video, addresses how millions of homeless families are living, which is in a private property, owned by rogue land lords. In these situations, the government will not do anything to help, meaning families like the one shown in the video are desperately struggling. This video is effective because it successfully showcases the conditions of the housing people are put in, urging audiences to offer donations.
It reflects altruism and pro social behaviour by showing selfless acts of giving, modelling empathy, promoting community support and inspiring viewers to engage in helpful behaviours. It conveys the idea that helping this in need is both meaningful and necessary, strengthening social bonds and reducing stigma.
